Three dead as Fulani herdsmen and farmers clash in Benue

No fewer than three persons have been confirmed dead in a renewed clash between Fulani herdsmen and farmers at Akpagodogbo, in Otukpa Local Government Area of Benue State. 15 students arrested in Jigawa State for allegedly beating homosexual classmate to death

The Jigawa State Police Command said it had arrested 15 students over the death of their classmate in Yankwashi Local Government Area of the state. The Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Jinjiri Abdu, confirmed the arrest today saying the suspects, who are students of the Government Science and Technical College, Karkarna, were arrested on August 8, 2017. He said the students aged between 17 and 19, were suspected to have caused the death of their class mate after they beat him up with sticks. The spokesman added that the suspects allegedly took the deceased to the bush close to the school and beat him up around 2.30 a.m. 'The suspects were said to have formed a disciplinary committee to deal with the deceased after they suspected him to be a homosexual.
